A revitalised skills-based Board has been appointed at St. John’s Village to strengthen and sustain the leadership and governance of the Wangaratta based aged care facility.
Desirée Harker is the new Managing Director and Board Chair of St. John’s. Ms Harker says important changes to the governance framework and clinical management of St. John’s are underway with a renewed focus on business excellence and person centred care.
“The new Board allows us to move forward with great confidence in applying the highest standard of clinical care and building a culture of respect and best practice at St. John’s. We have set ourselves the task of being ahead of the game in providing the best outcomes for staff, residents, families and carers”.
Ms Harker is well qualified to lead St. John’s Village into the future with a commitment to delivering the highest levels of clinical care and an organisational culture built on its values of ‘Care, Compassion, Respect’.
With over 25 years’ experience in driving organisational change in complex environments across both the public and private sectors, Desirée has gathered a team of highly experienced and qualified Board members to lead improvements in clinical care and organisational culture at St. John’s Village.
“The significant and important clinical and cultural changes made at St. John’s in recent months have seen us achieve full accreditation with the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency (AACQA). Our new Board members bring expertise in clinical care in an aged care environment, governance, law, people and culture, finance, information technology and risk management. We are all excited to be working in partnership with a dedicated staff team to provide safe and reliable care and lifestyle benefits to our residents”.
